To Vince

Vince,

I know that somehow, someway you will get to read this which I am writing now.

Moments like this are really forcing us to reflect on our past and our memories and to re-evaluate our own priorities and decisions.  The chance to speak together and to listen and share our thoughts and feelings with our friends has been re-ignited in this sad and upsetting time.

I am still shocked and speechless after learning of this news, and all of the memories running through my mind and mixed emotions I feel are painful but yet I am at a loss on how to express them.

I am still hoping that you've just gotten lost and will turn up soon after hunting a raccoon that managed to steal some fish from your cooler.  Fish that you caught while fishing during your camping excursion.

You have played a part in shaping me to be who I am now, working on those assignments, chatting online or gathering to have some fun and share some laughs.  I would not be who I am now without the roll you've played in my life.

May you find peace and contentment wherever you are.  Still hoping and forever will we remember...

Mixed Doubles

I have totally shifted away from being a mixed doubles player.

From coming 2nd the 1st year I played to making the 3rd round last year, this time, I have lost in the first round.

Due to a slight lack of fitness, and complete lack of opportunities to play mixed doubles, it has definitely gone way down.  Plus all of hte doubles shots don't help much, since I hardly ever have to run side to side, and that's how I got completely slaughetered in my mixed, by being pulled from one side to the other.  In fact, i'm so slow now that after going to one side, I can't even recover to get to the other one! Haha, gotta drop the lbs and do some training again if I'm to consider playing mixed again.

Doubles is going smooth, just hitting smashes, and driving the bird with minimal running works much better for me! haha

Isn't it sad...

Isn't it sad that all I look forward to is getting out of here and on to the weekend? hahaha.

Luckily, it's now FRIDAY again!

Another busy weekend, with competition tonight, hopefully tomorrow (if I win tonight) and on Sunday as well.

Feeling allright, somewhat decently fit, so hopefully I can do well in my matches.

Not much going on nowadays, the focus is all on this month long competition.

It's the weekend!

Yup...the long wait and the turmoil are over, I've survived to see another weekend! HAHA

Last night, I was at a U of T Alumni social gathering at a lounge in the building next to my office building.  It was a pretty good environment to meet lots of new people and of course by coincidence, I bumped an old friend of mine whom I didn't even know came back to Hong Kong.  Old in the sense that we didn't even go to University of High School together, just that he played Badminton of course! haha.

Couldn't believe that within the small number of people I chatted with, so many were from Haig as well!  Then again there aren't that many High Schools in Toronto, and with the number of from HK students we had there, it's no surprise.  I'm amazed to know that there are somewhere in the range of 10,000 U of T grads in Hong Kong.  That's a lot!

And now, to the weekend.  Friends are in town, going to hopefully hit the beach and catch a movie as well as play competition on Sunday. Looks like a fun and eventful weekend ahead!
